Delving Deeply into Anapanasati – on Sunday, June 18, 2017

Dear Friends,

On Sunday, June 18th the Washington DC Buddhist Vihara will be hosting a day-long meditation retreat, led by the abbot and founder Venerable Maharagama Dhammasiri, Venerable Paburana Sanghasobhana of the Sarathchandra Buddhist Vihara in Los Angeles and Venerable Pannaratana, a guest teacher at the vihara. This event will take place at the new Pannasiha Meditation Center, located at 25725 Long Corner Road, Gaithersburg, MD, 20882. The program will begin at 9 AM and conclude at 5 PM, and you are also welcome to come later or leave early as needed.

The retreat is titled “Delving Deeply into Anapanasati (Mindfulness of Breathing)” We will be doing a thorough investigation of how attending the breathing in a proper fashion can be used as a means to gain knowledge and insight about both the nature of the body and the nature of the mind, while also bringing serenity and calm. You can find the program schedule below.

If you would like to participate, please RSVP by sending an email to Bhante Maharagama Dhammasiri at mdhammasiri@gmail.com

This retreat is appropriate for meditators of any experience level and will serve both as an intensive introduction to Buddhist meditative practice and a way to devote extra time and effort to one’s already established the practice.

This program will be 100% free of charge, and a free lunch with ample vegetarian options will also be provided. Any donations you wish to contribute are greatly appreciated.

Public transport to the center is limited – if you do not have a vehicle, please indicate this in your RSVP and we will attempt to facilitate ride-sharing
